Grant programs are available, you just need to know where to look!
Mum finds grant programs with Huggies Australia to pursue business idea
Grant programs come in all shapes and sizes and even though the government is the best place to turn for
financial assistance, it is important to know other grant programs available to you as well. If you stumble upon a genius idea and require funding to get your business off the ground, it is about knowing where to look to find the right source for financing.
North Lakes resident Amanda Wong knew where to look to get her business started. She was among the five mothers who received $20,000 in grant funding from Huggies Australia to assist with turning her idea into a functioning business. At age 38 and mum to two children, her concerns for conserving water while giving baths formed her idea of the Duka. Her invention, the Duka, is an inflatable bath blockade that sits in the tub. Similar to how ice cubes take up space in a glass of water, the Duka takes up room in the bathtub, thus minimizing the amount of water needed to fill the tub. Currently, Mrs. Wong is using a prototype for her own children, but with the Huggies grant programs providing $20,000, she can finally perfect the design to begin production. In addition to the funding offered by the grant programs, one mum will receive an additional $10,000 in the People's Choice Award.
The Huggies MumInspired Grant Programs received more than 1100 creative entries this year. Huggies Australia is proud to supply mums across Australia with these grant programs to provide them with support in their creative business ventures.
