The operational plan is where you describe what actually happens during the operation of your business. This will include such information as your opening hours and your manufacturing schedule. It will also need to mention the equipment you use each day and the internal operations of how you do things. The operational plan is your evidence that you have thought your business through fully. Here are some things you will want to consider.The equipment you use
You need to list all the equipment you require. This will include everything in your offices as well as your manufacturing machinery and needs in regards to transport. You need to explain what everything does and how the different equipment fits in with each other. You should also provide information about costs to buy or lease, and how much you need to spend on maintenance.
Your service/product
You will need to explain everything that is involved in manufacturing or producing your service. Discuss the materials you need to obtain and how you pay for these. Discuss storage and distribution and how the time involved in the whole process.
Your labor demands
This will include details of your entire workforce. Provide information about their skills and the job they do for you. It is a good idea to provide all this information in table form.
The location of your business
Discuss the location of your business and the type of space you need to utilize. Give information about the pros and cons of your current location. If you are considering that it will be necessary to change location then you will need to provide information about this.Don’t forget any costs and make sure you include the following; taxes, shipping, maintenance, insurance, contingency plans, staff shortages, long-term equipment needs, long-term facility changes, and quality control.
